New Leaf offers Hannah a beautiful future

Hannah Myatt-Bower

Hannah Myatt-Bowyer was introduced to New Leaf when she attended a ‘Jobathon’ at her local job centre in Crewe.

After actively looking for work for some time Hannah needed help improving her CV, advice on making her money go further and ideas to boost her low self-esteem.

Jointly funded by the Big Lottery Fund and the European Social Fund, New Leaf works with multiple partners across Warrington and Cheshire to support local residents into employment, volunteering or further education and skills training.

After an initial chat with her New Leaf Mentor, Sian Jones at Groundwork, Hannah received the 1-2-1 support she needed. Over the months that followed she also benefitted from work trials, Maths and English taster sessions, health and fitness support as well as gained Level 2 qualifications in health, beauty, cleaning principles and customer service.

Hannah said; “With New Leaf you are made to feel like an individual as all the support you receive is personalised to you.”

With the help of her mentor Hannah’s confidence has now greatly improved. She is currently continuing her studies as a beauty therapist and completing a work trail with IBIS Hotels.

Hannah concludes: “New Leaf has really helped me a lot and I totally recommend it for anyone who has low confidence, they will help you every step of the way.”

New Leaf is a £10.6 million 3-year scheme, led by Golden Gates Housing Trust (GGHT), and part of the Building Better Opportunities programme.
