Ian develops idea into exciting new business

With help from New Leaf has helped Ian start his own handy man business.

Ian from Crewe had worked as a delivery man until he became unemployed.

In the past Ian had trained and worked in the construction industry and really enjoyed that work which gave him the idea about using these skills and knowledge to set up his own handy man business.

New Leaf provided Ian with a personalised support package that was delivered at his own pace. In addition Ian received 1-2-1 support, mentoring , computer training and help to develop an action plan to turn his business idea into a fully worked out business plan .

Ian says:

“I have received excellent support while on the programme and lots of help to move forward with my business idea. The experience with New Leaf has helped me a great deal in developing my skills and improving my confidence when speaking to people regarding setting up my business. I’m feeling better in myself I am looking forward into getting my business up and running in 2021”.

Ian has now applied to the Business Start Up Loan scheme for finance to buy a van and items of equipment and is currently waiting for the application to be approved. He feels that without the support from New Leaf he would not have had the knowledge or confidence to do this.
