With the help of New Leaf Lesley is ready to take the next steps and get back out into the big wide world again.
After losing her dad, Lesley from Warrington was suffering from a lack of confidence and wasn’t sure what she was going to do next with her life. That was until her niece who was already a participant on New Leaf recommended that she join the programme.
Lesley worked closely with her mentor to discuss her ideas and from this an action plan was specifically tailored to her needs and requirements.
New Leaf’s friendly and approachable manner and the relationships that she developed have been key to her progress and success.
Lesley has completed several courses including health and well being, food safety , digital inclusion and self-esteem course which helped boost her confidence.
Lesley says that:
“As I worked through the sessions and had my weekly chats with my mentors my confidence started to increase. It made me look at all aspects of my life and instead of just sitting and doing nothing. I am so grateful for all the support and guidance I received from everyone and I can’t thank them enough. They brought the confidence out of myself that was there but was buried beneath everything else.”
Lesley plans to do other courses of interest to her in the future but in the meantime has registered her interest in becoming a volunteer and hopes that all her hard work will eventually result in her getting back into employment in the future, once lockdown is over .
If you have been inspired by Lesley’s story and would like our help and support , then why not sign up to New Leaf today .
