We are proud to announce that the work the Cheshire West and Chester Council’s and Standguide’s New Leaf IPS team has made it into the Cheshire and Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust’s 19/20 Big Book of Best Practice.
The Big Book of Best Practice, now on its 7th edition, is a way of sharing innovative work and improvements across the Trust. The book is part of the Trust’s #CWPZeroHarm, a concept designed to support everyone to deliver the best care possible, as safely as possible to reduce unnecessary avoidable harm.
Standguide and CWAC New Leaf IPS services have been working closely with Community Mental Health and Early Intervention teams in Cheshire since November 2018 on a one-year project.
IPS is an evidence-based approach which provides 1-to-1 support to people with long-term mental health conditions to not only find employment or training but to work with their employers to help keep them in work for the long term.
Over the last year, our Standguide and Cheshire West and Chester Council’s New Leaf IPS teams have worked with more than 150 people, with two thirds of them gaining employment, returning to education or now confidently job seeking.
New Leaf is led by Torus Foundation and is part of the Building Better Opportunities Programme, funded by the European Social Fund (ESF) and The National Lottery Community Fund.
