“My escape or break for half hour each week is speaking to my mentor from New Leaf. It’s a conversation with someone other than my husband or children.
My mentor is there for support and keeps me positive. Even if it’s just a chat asking what I have been up to and how I am feeling, just speaking to her makes me feel a lot better as she listens to what I have to say and genuinely cares about how I am doing and how I am progressing through this time.”
Roseanne – New Leaf participant
New Leaf helps people from across Warrington and Cheshire to build confidence, gain skills and ultimately get closer to employment.
Whether you’ve been unemployed for years or have recently lost your job due to the coronavirus pandemic and don’t know where your skills fit into the new normal, we can help you.
It couldn’t be easier to access New Leaf. Due to COVID19, we have had to change how we work with you, but we are making sure you still receive the support you need to reach your potential
Our dedicated mentors are continuing to support you, just in a slightly different way. We can help you reach your potential and get closer to work over the phone, on a video call, or over email.
Our trainers are working hard to make sure your learning doesn’t come to a standstill during the lockdown. Face-to-face lessons are taking place over video chat and workbooks are being sent out to help with learning.
Mental health support
This is a challenging time for everyone. Our mental health team is proving mental health support remotely to help keep you mentally strong and get you emotionally ready to return to work.
New Leaf is led by Torus Foundation and is part of the Building Better Opportunities Programme, funded by the European Social Fund (ESF) and The National Lottery Community Fund.
